Terms of use and subscription
In short
- You can use the app for free with your own Claude key.
- With a subscription Claude is included, up to a monthly cap.
- Your lectures stay yours: on your PC and in your Drive.
- The subscription renews automatically and you can cancel anytime. Payment is handled by Lemon Squeezy, which sends you a VAT receipt: we never see your card details.

By using Verba Manent IA (the PC and phone app, the web version at verbamanent.app/studia and this site) you accept these terms.
Ways to use Verba Manent
Free, with your own key. The complete app, at no cost from us. For the AI-made notes you use your own Claude account: that relationship and its payments are between you and Anthropic, under their terms.
Free trial. When available, you can try the app for the number of days shown at start-up, without giving a card. The trial is linked to your Google account, so reinstalling does not restart it. During the trial you use Claude with your own key. When it ends, the lectures you already made stay readable, listenable and reviewable.
Subscription. Claude is included: no key needed.
For now the subscription is not on sale: we give it free to people we choose («Complimentary» plan).
Plans on sale, prices and the amount of Claude included are those shown on the Prices page at the time of purchase.
What the subscription includes
- The whole app, on PC, phone and web, with the same Google account you subscribed with.
- Claude included up to a monthly cap (notes, tutor, tests, oral quiz). The lecture hours we state are an estimate for normal use. At 80% the app tells you; at 100% Claude pauses until the first day of the next month, while the rest of the app keeps working.
- The subscription is personal: do not share your account with others.
Payment
Payment takes place on Lemon Squeezy, which sells the subscription as our authorised reseller (merchant of record). Lemon Squeezy collects the payment, applies your country’s VAT, emails you the receipt and handles cards, PayPal and other methods. Lemon Squeezy’s buyer terms also apply to the payment. We do not receive or store your card details: we only see the card type and last 4 digits, to show them in «My subscription».

Renewal and cancellation
The subscription renews automatically every month or year, depending on the plan, until you cancel.
You can cancel anytime from My subscription with one click. Cancellation applies from the next renewal: Claude stays included until the end of the period already paid, then you pay nothing more. From «My subscription» you can also change card, download receipts and change plan.
If a renewal payment fails, Lemon Squeezy retries for a few days; if it does not succeed, the subscription ends.
Refunds and right of withdrawal
Within 14 days of your first payment you can ask for a full refund by writing to [email protected], with no reason needed. After 14 days, periods already paid are not refunded, except where the law provides otherwise. Your statutory consumer rights always apply.
Price changes
If we change the price of your plan we will email you at least 30 days before the renewal at which the new price applies. If you don’t agree, you can cancel before the renewal.
Your lectures are yours
Recordings, transcripts and notes stay on your device and, if you choose, in your Google Drive or OneDrive. We do not own them and we do not use them to train any AI. If you cancel or the trial ends, your lectures stay where they are. How we handle data is explained on the Privacy page.
Fair use
- You must have permission to record lectures and meetings. Follow your school’s or university’s rules and respect the rights of the speakers.
- Do not use Verba Manent for illegal activities or against Anthropic’s usage policies for Claude.
- Do not try to bypass the caps, use the included Claude outside Verba Manent, or resell access.
In case of abuse we may suspend the subscription, notifying you first where possible.
AI can make mistakes
Notes, summaries, tests and tutor answers are made by AI and may contain errors. Always check them against the recording and course material, especially before an exam.
Availability and liability
We do our best to keep the service running, but interruptions can happen, including in third-party services it depends on (such as Anthropic and Google). We are not liable for indirect damages or for the loss of data we never received: keep a copy of important lectures. This does not limit liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, nor your statutory consumer rights.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, the new version is published on this page with its date. Important changes for subscribers are emailed before they take effect.
Law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer, the courts of your place of residence have jurisdiction.
